Vikram has authored eight poetry collections, among them The Humble Administrator’s Garden (1985) and All You Who Sleep Tonight (1990) deserves special mention The opera’s debut performance took place in June 1994. In ‘A Suitable Boy’, which explores the relationships between four Indian families, he turned to prose. A Suitable Boy was compared favourably to Leo Tolstoy, Marcel Proust, James Joyce, Honoré de Balzac, and Charles Dickens because of its compelling plot and length. A libretto based on the Greek myth of Arion and the Dolphin was also commissioned from him by the English National Opera. The opera’s debut performance took place in June 1994.
Seth is bisexual. Philippe Honoré, a violinist, and he were together in a relation for ten years. He won the Sahitya Akademi Award for “The Golden Gate” in 1988, the Padma Shri in 2007, the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman in 2005, and other awards.
