The founder and director of Drishti IAS, a Delhi-based coaching facility for UPSC candidates, is Dr. Vikas Divyakirti. Due to his family’s financial struggles, he had to work odd jobs while completing his first year of college, including as a salesperson who deals in calculators. He had intended to run in the student election and win the position of Student Union president but at last he didn’t.
Vikas was given the position of Assistant Commandant of the CISF. Subsequently, he joined the central secretariat within the Ministry of Home Affairs. In response to his request, he was given a position in the Rajbhasha department of the home ministry, where he was appointed as a desk officer. Vikas established the Drishti IAS Coaching Classes in Delhi in 1999 for UPSC hopefuls, where he quickly gained notoriety for his distinctive methods of instruction. He launched his Drishti IAS YouTube channel where he posts lectures, study guides, and videos about how to prepare for exams.
