Indian actor Konidela Varun Tej performs in Telugu films. He is the Allu-Konidela family’s first-born child and actor Nagendra Babu’s son. He has appeared in 13 films so far. 2014 saw Tej make his acting debut in Mukunda. He got plaudits for his performance in Krish’s critically praised war picture Kanche (2015), but it was a box office dud like his following three releases. With the big critical and financial success of the love drama Fidaa (2017), he made his name as a star actor. Since then, Tej has appeared in a number of films, such as Tholi Prema (2018), Gaddalakonda Ganesh (2019), F2 (2019), and F3 (2022).

Professional Career
When Tej was just 10 years old, he made his acting debut in Hands Up!, directed by his father, Nagendra Babu. He made his acting debut as an adult in the movie Mukunda alongside Pooja Hegde, another rookie. Mixed reviews were given to the movie. In 2015, he made his second picture, the war drama Kanche, which starred Pragya Jaiswal and earned generally favourable reviews from reviewers. The Times of India commended Tej’s portrayal as Dhupati Haribabu and lauded his “ability to shift gears from intense to sobriety.” Along with his 2017 film Mister, his second release that year, Loafer, also had a poor box office performance.
The movie Fidaa, in which he played an NRI who falls in love with a country belle, was released in the second part of 2017. Tholi Prema, his 2018 release, too did well at the box office, and Tej received praise for his portrayal of an impetuous young guy in the role. Antariksham 9000 KMPH, a space thriller directed by Sankalp Reddy, was his following movie that year.F2: Fun and Frustration, a multistarrer with Venkatesh, Tamannaah, and Mehreen Pirzada, was Tej’s first release of 2019 and a great box office success. For the character of Aladdin in the movie Aladdin, he did a Telugu dub after F2. Later, he appeared in Harish Shankar’s box office hit Gaddalakonda Ganesh, which was a remake of the Tamil film Jigarthanda. As of January 2020, Tej is working on two films: Ghani and F2’s follow-up, F3. In Kiran Korrapati’s film Ghani, which he also directed, Tej is portraying a boxer.
