From 1946 to 1961, she played the lead role in Marathi films such as Vahinichya Bangdya , Meeth Bhakar, Sangtye Aika , and others. She frequently played supporting roles in films starring Dev Anand. Bahraon Ke Sapne, Doli, Kati Patang, Nai Roshni , Aaye Din Bahar Ke, Aaye Milan Ki Bela, and a few others. She received the Chitrabhushan Award from the Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Chitrapat Mahamandal in 2003. Sulochana Latkar was given the Padma Shri, in 1999. She received four Hridaynath Mangeshkar Awards. Saraswatibai Dadasaheb Phalke Lifetime Achievement Award was given to her in 2019.
