Mr. Rohan Chand Thakur, a Lahaul native, passed the UPSC exam to become an IAS officer in 2009. He was the Himachal Pradesh Kaushal Vikas Nigam’s Managing Director. In his role as Hamirpur District Collector, he concentrated on raising the standard of education in primary schools. He was Shimla’s youngest District Collector. He was instrumental in establishing the Chief Minister’s helpline for grievance resolution. He worked with the Asian Development Bank to put into action a $100 million project. As the Excise and Taxation Commissioner, he has dedicated a lot of time to the GST implementation.
