Rekha, the daughter of actors Pushpavalli and Gemini Ganesan, began her acting career in the Telugu films Inti Guttu as a young child.Rekha won her first Filmfare Award for Best Actress for her work in the comedy Khubsoorat (1980). Rekha has been a Rajya Sabha member since 2012 in addition to acting.Many of the films in which Rekha and Amitabh Bachchan co-starred were huge box office successes.
