Professional Career
Lewis chose to attend the University of Miami, where he played football for the Miami Hurricanes. Lewis had an even more successful junior season, making the All-American, All-Big East, and coming in second place for the Butkus Award. Prior to the 1996 NFL Draught, ewis was considered to be the best inside linebacker. Lewis was named All-Pro and chosen for his fifth straight Pro Bowl in 2001. However, he was only able to play in five games in 2002 due to a separated shoulder. He came back after injury and assisted Baltimore in winning the team’s second Super Bowl. In 2018, he was admitted to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

In Baltimore’s Canton neighbourhood, Lewis established the Ray Lewis Full Moon Bar-B-Que, which was open from February 2005 to 2008. Throughout his professional career, Lewis has been actively involved in charitable endeavours. In order to help underprivileged young people personally and financially, he founded the Ray Lewis 52 Foundation, a nonprofit organisation. Lewis has won many NFL accolades since his rookie season in 1996, including two times being named Defensive Player of the Year.
