After receiving her law degree in 1993, Maryellen Noreika started her career in the legal field by working as an associate at the law firm of Morris, Nichols, Arsht & Tunnell in Wilmington, Delaware. Noreika worked as counsel in more than 500 cases throughout the course of her 25-year career at Morris Nichols, during which she specialised in patent law and represented parties in disputes involving biotechnology, chemistry, consumer products, computer science, medical devices, and pharmaceuticals. In addition, she was an expert in patent law. Before Noreika started her career in the judiciary, she was an attorney with Morris, Nichols, Arsht & Tunnell.
In the year 2023, Noreika served as the presiding judge in a proceeding concerning John Paul Mac Isaac. In his defamation action against CNN, Politico, and Hunter Biden, Mac Isaac, who worked as Hunter Biden’s laptop repairman, was unable in obtaining a ruling from Noreika.
