Mangal began his career in 1978 as a stage performer with a Delhi-based theatre company. Later, he participated in a number of radio plays in Chandigarh, Delhi, and Mumbai. ‘Theatrewala Urf Pagal Hai’ (1996), ‘Baazi’ (1984), ‘Baba Bolda Hai’ (1986), ‘Sandhya Chhaya’ (1984), and ‘Aaj Ka Jarasandh’ (1983) are a few of his well-known pieces.
He began his acting career on television in 1986 with the DD National Hindi TV series “Katha Sagar.” In the TV series, he performed a variety of roles. ‘Buniyaad’ (1986), ‘Junoon’ (1993), ‘Panther’ (1996), and ‘Param Vir Chakra’ (1988) are a few of his other Hindi TV series.
