She first met Buffett in the Chart Room pub, where the two of them struck up an instant relationship. This friendship had progressed all the way to the point of marriage.

The marriage between Jimmy Buffett and Jane Slagsvol began in 1977 and lasted until his passing in 2023. Buffet and Slagsvol first crossed paths in Key West, Florida, during Slagsvol’s time spent on the island during her spring vacation from college. At the time, Buffet had just recently come to Key West from Nashville after giving country music a try. He had also recently divorced his first wife, Margie Washichek. In 1975, Buffet created the Coral Reefer Band, and he was only beginning to build his characteristic Caribbean rock genre.
In addition to co-parenting three children with the late singer, Slagsvol stood at Buffett’s side while he developed his Margaritaville empire. Slagsvol and the singer who passed away shared three children. Slagsvol accompanied her husband to a number of red carpet events throughout the years, including a number of Margaritaville grand openings. The pair maintained a high level of discretion with regard to their romantic connection; yet, she did attend these events with him.
